Is there a way to reinstall the VLC program so it has the original features as when I first installed it? I can't get the record button back which made start & stop editing easy for youtube. Thanks

Reinstalling vlc shouldn't be necessary to reinstate missing features and resetting prefs will usually correct the problem: https://wiki.videolan.org/VSG:ResetPrefs
