VLC 3.0.12 not opening Youtube videos: access error.
Posted: 24 Feb 2021 11:58
This issue is not just for a specific video, but seems to be with accessing Youtube in general.
When I try to open a Youtube video via Media> Open Network Stream, it buffers for a few seconds, then says this:
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL <insert MRL> Check the log for details.
When I check the log, I get this:
access error: HTTP 403 error
I have tried everything I could- updated the youtube.luac file to the one from the latest nightly build following the steps given here: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=152113, and even updated to the latest nightly build, but nothing worked. In the nightly build, it did not give any sort of error message, but just kept buffering.
I am on a Windows 10 laptop, using VLC 3.0.12 Vetinari.
Can someone please tell me what to do?
Thanks.
