Adding SRT file to MP3

Postby OKSHAW » 20 Jan 2021 21:16

I opened an MP3 file, then added an SRT file, and it plays back just fine and displays the lyrics from the SRT file, properly synced.

Now I want to save the file with the subtitles.

I tried using "Media > Convert/Save", and it stored an MP4 file. But that MP4 file won't open in any video player or editor
(I tried 4 of them).

How can I save the MP3 file with the subtitles?

Thanks

MP3 is an audio format, subtitles will be in the MP4 file

Make sure there is some video in the MP4 file
Windows 10 with 4K screen, lots of storage
Apple TV 4K, cheap 4K television

Thanks for the response.

How can there be "...some video in the MP4 file..." when the MP4 file was created by VLC from my MP3 file?

Also, about that MP4 file created by VLC: when I open it in VLC, it contains the audio, but not the SRT lyrics that I added.

So after I successfully add SRT lyrics to an MP3 with VLC, is there anyway to save the file (as either MP3 or MP4) with the added lyrics?
