VLC Player is chopping off the front of every audio file
is there an Auto crossfade, or auto normilize on by default?
Windows player plays the files as expected.
~Thanks

Try another audio output module:
http://wiki.videolan.org/WindowsFAQ-2.0 ... _anomalies

And/or:
Disable time stretching in the audio preferences in Menu Tools -> Preferences -> Audio
Use a faster resampler or no resampler at all in Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Audio -> Audio Resampler

After the changes save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.

Thank you
...I suspected that might be it as there was no other (visible) logical choice. Just need to turn it back on foe music practice! :)

That did not fix the problem. It is clear that windows player plays the files as expected and VLC Player does not. It's not an obvious setting and I have never had to use windows player before this problem.
I appreciate the link but have no idea what to do with that info.
Looking at that list tells me it's time to just use the device that gets the job done. Play the audio file by default without digging into the guts.

Menu Tools -> Preferences (Show Settings = ALL) -> Audio -> Audio Resampler
Disable = no sound at all
all the other settings had the same result = chopping off the first word of every new track.
