Is it possible to disable using stream metadata? (Allow metadata network access is unchecked)

I'm not sure if it'll help or not, but there's a setting in the Advanced menu called "Allow automatic icon changes" which can be disabled.

1. Hit Ctrl + P to open prefs and then click the radio button at the bottom to the left of the word "All".
2. In the Search field at the top type: Qt and then select it when in appears in the left hand pane.
3. In the right hand Qt menu scroll down to the bottom.The above mentioned setting is located four rows above.
4. Remove the checkmark and then click Save to make permanent.(Can be undone by checkmarking again and Save).

There is same phenomena in VLC MediaPlayer v3.0.21 Vetinary on Windows-11 platform. Value of "Allow automatic icon change" has no effect on automatic VLC title change.

You are listening to a playlist that contains other playlists (with .m3u8 extension), and its normal you see a changed title because depends on that you are listening at that moment in a specific playlist.
A playlist without changing titles is like this (with .aac, .mp3, etc. extension):
