I converted VIDEO_TS to mp4 using VLC 2.1.5, and it won't play. It has no properties, and the duration displayed is 0:00 VIDEO_TS plays fine, but subtitles won't display beyond the first one. The srt file looks fine, and they display fine in another video, though of course they don't make any sense because they don't belong to that video. The point I'm making is that the srt is okay.

All is well. Handbrake successfully did the conversion to mp4 and I'm able to see the English subtitles for this Dutch film Het Meisje met het Rode Haar.
