automatic subtitles

Postby greydutch » 11 Jan 2020 10:34

Hello,

I have the problem that subtitles are not shown by default. In the menu "Subtitles/OSD" the option "Enable subtitles" is ticked and I have set the correct preferred subtitle language, but every time I start a film I have to go to Subtitle > Sub Track to see them. Whatever I do, my default setting is "disable". Not a big thing, of course, but it would really be nicer if subtitles were loaded automatically. As an example, I encounter this issue in MKV files that were created with MKV Toolnix (and where "Default Track" flag for Srt files is set to "yes"). I do not have this problem when playing these files on my Android TV (with Kodi).

My PC is Windows 10 Pro, and the VLC Version is 3.0.7.

Am I overlooking something?

Many thanks.
