VLC 3.0.8 not using .ass subtitle file characteristics.

Postby RAKooistra » 19 Sep 2019 18:13

I have just started tinkering with Advanced Subs Station Alpha (.ass) files instead of SubRip (.srt) files. What I have found is that VLC is not using the values contained in the specific file but is always using what is set in VLC's "Subtitles & On Screen Display Settings" panel.

I did not find any mention of this in the forum for Windows. It's impossible no one encountered this issue. Am I missing something obvious or are simple .ass files too complex for VLC?
