Is this software right for me?

Postby acech » 15 Dec 2005 11:40

Hi guys,

I have an old PII 266Mhz PC which I want to use to play videos on. I understand that it will certainly not have enough processing power to play back any form of videos, let alone divX etc. So I am looking for a solution where the processing can be done remotely on my office PC and the display streamed to this old PC.

Will Video LAN do this for me?

Many thanks,

Chris

Hello,

No, VLC can't do this. The problem is that anyway, transmitting and displaying the huge amount of uncompressed data will probably be hard too for your p2 266.
