3.0.7.0 broken

Postby thisdoesfine » 09 Jun 2019 14:23

I just upgraded from 3.0.6.0 to x.x.7.0 and the video in any media I play is just a garbled mess of green video. I did a clean install, uninstalled and reinstalled, rebooted, then reverted back to x.x.6.0 and all is good again.

There have already been bug reports:

https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/22383
https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/22395

Workaround (with probably higher CPU usage):

"The problem disappears when I change the menu settings "Advanced Preferences\Video\Output modules\Video output module" from Automatic to any other, instead Direct3D11. Automatic and Direct3D11 have this problem. These modes use the least CPU time and support interlacing, but other modes not support."

or just downgrade to version 3.0.6 until that is fixed.

Thanks a lot! I just joined to report it. This program has worked great for many many years :)
