hevc files 10bit support

Postby adamro » 05 Jun 2019 17:06

I'm using Windows 10 with the display information:

My monitor supports 10bit color depth and I have hevc 10bit video I would like to play.
To my understanding, it is possible to output 10bit color depth with direct3d11.
My questions are, how do I know if I'm seeing 10bit color depth and not 8bit? Does vlc dither the video and display 8bit color depth?

Thanks
