Is there a way to have VLC automatically align to the left/right side of the screen?

I'd like to have VLC automatically align to the right half of the screen as soon as it opens (the way Windows 10 aligns windows to the left/right/whole screen when dragging the window to the edge of the screen). The only way I have found to be able to do this is manually moving the window over to the edge after opening a file.

I've tried messing around with the Video settings, and while I sort of got half the solution (making the video height a certain size worked, but not the width; it doesn't seem to matter what the actual width number is; if it's a positive number, it's a quarter of the screen, and if it's a negative number, it's the full size of the screen), it's still not the solution I'd like.

I'm sure there's a simple way to do this or a setting that I just haven't found yet, so any help on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi, I think the best solution would be a third party software doing this for you.

You can align the video to an edge or corner of the window in VLC settings. But aligning the window to the desktop is a matter for the window manager, not VLC.
