file truncated converting .avi to .mp4

Postby paulgottlieb » 06 Apr 2019 00:07

I captured an online session (a two hour chess lesson) in .avi format. In the directory is shows the video length is 1:58:52 and the size is 1.22 Gb. So I used the convert/save option under Media to convert the file to .mp4 format, which is almost 90% smaller. The conversion ran to completion, but when I looked in the directory, the converted video had a length of 1.38:38. The last 20 minutes is missing. And this is true. I viewed the completed .mp4 video and it terminated abruptly, about 20 minutesl before the actual end. Does anyone have a clue what might be wrong, and is there some data I could be gathering to help solve this?

Re: file truncated converting .wma to .mp3

I have a similar problem when converting WMA files to MP3 files. If there is no length of silence at the end of the WMA the last half second or so is chopped off. Please advise.
