The VideoLAN Forums

I'm tired of struggling through movie players that do tons of oddball things I don't need, are difficult to set up, and have out-of-date documentation. VLC just works, and the documentation and the forums are genuinely useful in solving problems.

Does anyone know of a relatively simple database that will scan my media drives for movies, download cast, plot, and maybe genre and other info, and allow me to start up the media in VLC? The "startup in VLC" isn't critical if it lets me open the file location in Explorer.
