No previews for FLV or MKV files
How do I get VLC to show preview images (instead of the orange cone) for .flv and .mkv videos? Is there something wrong with my system? Perhaps I have a bad codec installed?????

Well - here's how I've always done it. Download a free program called "media preview" and then install it. Open the program and check the boxes for .mkv and .flv save/close. Now all your thumbnails should show
