Hello, the video I have has 3 sets of subtitles inside it, my goal is to export a clip with only english subtitles hardcoded. I am using Convert/Save, but when I do it I get all 3 subtitles hardcoded at once. I couldn't see an option to choose specific subtitles during the setup process. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Use :no-sout-all advanced VLC option. Then you can use :sub-track (0, 1, 2, ...) option to select a different subtitle track.
VLC 3.0.4+, Media > Convert/Save...
Open Media dialog:
[v] Show more options
Edit Options [ :no-sout-all :sub-track=0]
Then select/create a transcoding profile to transcode video with subtitles overlay option.

Just tried it out and it worked perfectly! Thank you for the help.

This may be 2 years after the initial posting of this thread but the option offered above did NOT work for me. After poking around a bit, I discovered a resolve for this issue (that i've had myself a NUMBER of times) that's MUCH, MUCH, MUCH easier than entering/editing code...

* Open media, choose convert
* Select which file to convert BUT when you are still on the first page of the conversion process in "open media", there will be a number of tabs, (File, Disc, Network, Capture Device)
* Select "Disc" & you SHOULD see an option to choose WHICH subtitle/channel to hardcode to the file (if you know which subtitle you want to convert to the file, tick the arrows up or down to select that subtitle)
* Continue convert process as normal & when video is finished, it will have only used the subtitle you intended!

Hello, did, works, but now the video has no sound ?

i tried the option, it didn't work and said VLC is unable to open the MRL 'dvdsimple:///F:/'. Check the log for details. pls help???
