Disable Auto Display of Closed Captions

Postby ddn2003 » 03 Nov 2018 16:11

Hi,

How do I disable the auto display of closed caption subtitles in VLC 3.0.4? I've looked at the "VBI & Teletext" section, but it doesn't offer a way to disable them.

Any help is appreciated.

The normal method would be to remove the checkmark from Teletext text subtitles as per the screenshot. Are you saying then that it's already unchecked?

Bear in mind also that some subtitles, particularly on MKV files can't be disabled.

Thank you for confirming that the closed captions on mkv files can’t be disabled. Disappointed that I can’t. Find it very annoying.
