VLC since v3.x, audio issue (v2.x works)

Postby BRN » 01 Nov 2018 14:24

Hi dear,
I found issue with audio in all versions 3.x. I tried different versions of windows, or hardware. It looks like pure software implementation.
If I want to play video file, which is currently downloading, then audio have defects if I press button "Play as is" on dialog box "Broken or missing index" at start.
I using site offering to download free movies with limited download speed. It's OK because movie is often downloaded earlier than movie play time is. I used to start downloading and immediately play the ".part" file which is firefox extension for unfinished downloads. VLC shows warning about "Broken or missing index". I press "Play as is" and I can play movie which is currently downloading. This works until VLC version 3 came out. In version 2.2.8 this works without any sound issue.

For example I want play this file https://ulozto.net/!isqQKeTHaDEE/district-9-cz-avi. Partially downloaded file hasn't have readable index and VLC offers options in "Broken or missing index" dialog box. When I choose "play as is", sound is broken.
Another (but this time working) example is https://ulozto.net/!1KJQlO9CRTPN/distri ... 9-2009-mkv. Partially downloaded file has readable index for VLC and didn't offer anything. VLC just play that file because VLC see whole 107 minutes in index.

In version 3.x when I press "Build index, then play", then audio is fixed and sound is great. But this button cause also ignores of continuing download and stops playing in time which was actual end of file at time when button was pressed.

Sorry for my English and a bit more text than is maybe necessary, but I was afraid if my post is understandable :)
