roman951 -- somewhat new at VLC but i was looking for the same info and ended up installing ispy VMS software on my Windows 10 system -- then selected "addmenu" - then IP Camera with wizard -- checked on the "Not Listed" checkbox and walked through the wizard. Note: Wizard may offer up multiple streams. Once you find one that works -- right mouse click on the camera and select edit -- then just to the right of the upper left source label -- click on the ... command button. Highlight and copy the VLC URL.
Open command window -- navigate to folder where vLC is installed -- on windows machine this is typically C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC and run the following command:
vvlc.exe vlc url
for me it was vlc.exe rtsp://username:password@192.168.10.8:554/h264_stream
If you want to use a vlm config file -- check out my post at https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=145894 -- Still having issues trying to get it to work but hopefully someone will help out
Good luck -- let me know how it works
Dan
