Video Resolution Too High For Monitor - Can I Scroll VLC's Viewport?

Greetings!

My monitor's native resolution is limited to 1440 x 900, so when viewing a 1920 x 1080 video on VLC (at Original size), I'm only seeing a large section of the video, but not the entire frame.

Is it possible to view the hidden areas by somehow scrolling around the video (up, down, right, left) inside VLC's viewport, rather than simply Scaling the video to my screen size (which shrinks it and makes it look fuzzy)?

Thank you!

Hello,

I am afraid this is not an easy task on VLC.
However, Windows can let you move windows with keyboard shortcuts (Alt-Space -> M (Move) -> then use the arrow keys).

Hi garf,

Thank you for the reply.

Well, I can move the window around using that method, but the edges of the video are still cut off around the window I'm moving.

I discovered what I'm actually looking for is Pan & Scan :)

When I start VLC, I get the video at the intended size, but it contains a windows border and is off-center. I then double-left-click on the video. VLC will then fill the screen with the video, borderless. In my case, 480/576/720 videos will then fill the screen (1920x1080). 4:3 videos will have pillarbars. If you double-left-click in the video again, you'll be returned to the border version of VLC.

I hope this helps.
