I have been reading some problems with vlc crashing windows

My setup :
HPpavilion ze4616ea
Canyon USB webcam model cn-wcam23
Hauppage WINTV USB model 40204 Rev 283
Windows XP SP2 and all drivers up to date.
VLC 0.8.4

What happens ?
When i want to watch tv it works perfect note this is also a usb device.

BUT when want to use the USB CAM i get this nice BLEU SCREEN off DEATH

In other words it completly crahses my XP and Reboots....

Is this strictly my webcam or is this the same problem i have been reading about in the forum.

Please note that i dont use both devices at the same time and they run perfect under windows.

My Kodak USB camera also crashes my computer unless I check the box titled "Device Properties" under "Advanced Options" of the Streaming Device dialog box of VLC 0.8.4.

This check box launches some Windows device dialogs that must be used to prevent crashing.

That is because the driver doesn't like default options that VLC uses. Basically the driver behaves bad, because companies think that if their driver works with Windows Media Encoder, they are done testing their product.

Oke that worked

Oke the options Ggunners gave works fine .

But now the next step, i want to use this cam with the scripts that Thomas made: check this thread viewtopic.php?t=7065

So this has to be done via the command-line.

Is this possible ?????

Thanx
