Good Day
I'm trying to stream on the network the Win7 Desktop following this guide:
https://www.howtogeek.com/120202/how-to ... -with-vlc/

But doesn't work. It seems VLC is not able to open the desktop.
Viceversa if I try to stream a file.. it works.

Any suggestion?

Thank you

Hello,

Please share your log messages.
To help you, we need messages, to completely understand what your problems is.
To fix this, please be sure before you start the playback to:
  1. Open: Tools -> Messages.
  2. Set Verbosity to 2
  3. Start playback to reproduce your issue
  4. Save text in a file or copy into clipboard
  5. Then paste the full resulting log here between [code]and[/code] (or use Pastebin.com if it's too long)
Also don't forget to name your Operating System and provide the VLC media player version.
Be aware that streaming a desktop (especially with a high resolution) can consume a lot of computer resources (especially CPU), and me be difficult to work on some platforms.

It is possible to stream any Windows PC desktop with VLC to any streaming device or other PC. You just need to use a different version of VLC. There is a YT how to "desktop stream windows 7".
