Since VLC 3.x is out, the "Record" function doesn't work anymore. I've hoped it would be fixed with 3.0.1 or 3.0.2 but no such luck.
Here's what happens (or doesn't happen): When I click the "Record" button or use the default command SHIFT+R, the button turns to blue but the directory to which the record is supposed to be saved stays empty.
The path to the directory is: \\nafshcham01.hcham.de\hcuser\dlanger\Eigene Videos. The log claims "No such file or directory"
On my Apple Macintosh at home it works flawlessly but on my Windows machine in the office it doesn't.
What am I doing wrong?

Are you trying to save to a networsk share ?
It looks like it's missing a \ at the beginning.

I've tried it with the \ at the beginning, even tried \\ but no - nothing seems to be working.
Neither the directory nor the path to it has changed since VLC 2.x.

Remote filesystems are not supported for recording.

So - what does that mean exactly? And why did it work with VLC 2.x?

It means paths that don't start with a drive letter.

Thank you for the information, but - as far as I can tell from the log, there is no drive letter in the path specified. (Or should there be?)
Futhermore, the error message goes: "No such file or directory" or "failed to open output" or "no suitable sout access module", respectively.
What am I getting wrong?
