Screenshot makes only solid green images

I am using VLC version 3.0.1 Vetinari on an Alienware 15 R3 laptop running windows 10. While playing a video file and when I click on the screenshot icon on the toolbar it only saves a solid green image instead of an actual image of what was on the screen at the time. I was playing an x264 mkv file. In the settings I tried using both png and jpeg as the file types of the files it saves but it makes just a green rectangle with both. Any idea what I can to make it work?

I'm having this same issue with most video formats. .avi screenshots work normally, .m4v, .mov, .wmv, .mkv all produce a solid green screenshot, some .mp4 are solid green, others create a solid green background with lighter green and/or red lines angling across parts of the screen.

Maybe you can see this.
It is the codec window for the file that produces a green snapshot

I just installed 64bit version of "VLC 3.0.6 Vetinari jenkins@728791c5f812 Jan 9 2019 20:40:01" on my computer for the first time.
When playing over rtsp://184.72.239.149/vod/mp4:BigBuckBunny_115k.mov
I see video on screen just fine.
When I try to take a snapshot. They are only 1/4 correct.
I tried to upload some of the captures here for better understanding.

Any help is appreciated.

The issue is still present in the latest version of 3.0.16 Vetinari. If you have "Image Adjust" checked/activated, screenshots come plain green.

You should create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with your above report and the link to this thread:

Done. Took me a while to find out my password and i realised that trac.videolan.org was retired and replaced by github.

Im here to let you know the bug still persists in 3.0.20 Vetinari.

I tried to log in to the bug tracker, but after entering the user and password it asks for a verification code which im not receiving since i dont have the app, and its not in my two email addresses. Resetting the password doesnt work either.
