Network browsing for distant filesystems

Thank you for the continued development and the recent release of version 3.0.
The release page for 3.0 states the following is a feature: "Network browsing for distant filesystems (SMB, FTP, SFTP, NFS...)"
I couldn't find this feature in the gui for a filesystem available over sftp and upon enquiring about it on the irc channel I was told that network browsing is only available for SMB. For other protocols it is necessary to type in the full URI. Clearly this is unwieldy for long directory / file names that are case sensitive. I assume therefore that the browsing feature for other protocols is planned for a later release but if it's correct that it's not supported perhaps the release page for 3.0 should be corrected so future users don't spend unnecessary time trying to find it?
