Artist all the way to the left? And right click multiple selection fail.

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and downloaded the latest version of VLC. I added Artist to the information displayed in the playlist. However, unlike the previous version of VLC I had, it will not let me drag the Artist column all the way to the left before the "Title" column. Any ideas as to why not?

Also, when I open a folder of songs, select a bunch, right click and hit play or add to VLC playlist, it will only play/add the one song that I am right clicking on directly. All the previous versions of VLC would add/play all of the selected songs. Any ideas?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem which appeared only in new version 3.0.0.
In all previous versions (e.g. 2.2.8) was possible to move first column in playlist freely.
But in 3.0.0 is the "Title" fixed to first position and you cannot move it.

Please try and confirm if this is a bug? Or user experience comfort was reduced on purpose in version 3.0.0?

I found workaround for this bug:
- install version 3.0.0
- download and extract version 2.2.8 from zip file
- run version 2.2.8 and move columns as you like (e.g. Track number as first column) and close
- now run installed version 3.0.0 - columns are moved as you like it (the "Title" column you cannot move again but it is in required different position)
- enjoy and pray for fix of this annoying bug

You are right. The setting is stored in "vlc-qt-interface.ini" file: [Playlist] headerStateV2=...
You can use following line for [ID]-[Title]-[Duration]-[Album] header and then you can customize it in VLC:

Well, version 3.0.2 is out and this annoying bug still exists. So disappointing.
I want to change layout easily as it was possible in 2.2.8!
I want TRACK NUMBER as first column, not TITLE.

Just read the bug tracker and it seems some of the developers are not taking this seriously. I used the post by Mederi above to edit the vlc-qt-interface.ini file and I'm back to golden. But if I didn't know how to do stuff, I would have abandoned VLC for something else. Given a simple edit to the INI file solves the problem, I would think they would at least send it out with the patched INI.

So two years later I had to reinstall VLC and had to re-hack this problem and I couldn't get it to hack. Fortunately I had the ini file from another computer I did this on to copy and use. But this still is an issue and is still worth patching the INI to fix.
