2.2.6 update failure

Postby daveRockville » 19 Jan 2018 20:06

I did an update check and it found 2.2.0 had 2.2.6 available. I clicked to download it and it seemed to be doing fine, but at the end I got a message that there was some sort of a signature error, apparently a security issue for that signature for that file, and then it just deleted itself. I did not have an antivirus active when this took place, so it almost seemed as if VLC did the file signature check and deleted the upgrade file all by itself. I can still use VLC 2.2.0, so I guess I do not need any help, but I thought I should report this. Using Win XP.

Given that nobody else reported this problem, I would assume that the issue is on your end.

Regardless unless you know which mirror you used, there is nothing we can do.

Best is to uninstall the old one and get a fresh build from here http://get.videolan.org/vlc/2.2.8/win64/
