Newbie needs to transfer audio file to library

Postby imfubard » 10 Oct 2017 23:43

I'm new to LVC, used RealPlayer for years. Have over 6000 audio clips to transfer to the VLC library. Have only been able to do it one at a time so far. Is there a way to transfer the whole file to the VLC library?

Help!

How do you transfer to the library?

I just opened "Media Library" on the left to Playlist view. (at the bottom of the interface between the equalizer button and the repeat button.)
Then I opened a regular Windows explorer window to one of my album directories.
I highlighted all the songs and dragged them into the Playlist view.
Just to check, I closed and reopened VLC and the songs were still there.
Next I simply grabbed a file folder and dragged it to the Playlist view of Media Library.
An entry was created with the folder name and a ">"
I clicked the ">" and all the songs were there and they play.

I'm willing to bet if I just grabbed my directory called "Laptop_Music_Library" and dragged it into VLC all 742 folders and 9,616 files would appear after they've been absorbed by the DB.

If this doesn't help, describe the issue more clearly and the steps to how you arrived at it.
