best input format

Does anybody know wich is the best input format for VLC? MPEG2 ? or is it better to use an uncompressed stream?

there is no best input format. It all depends on what you want to do and what means you have.

My application should stream live from one PC to another via 100 Mbit LAN. The problem is, that I need this in realtime. Until today I have 1second delay. My thought was, if I have a format wich is easier to stream VlC coulb be faster. I tried out some of the transcoding options but without succes.
