Heads up display (HUD), how to enable

Postby telstrareg » 06 Feb 2017 08:08

On an older PC, whenever I changed the playback speed using the square bracket keys, there used to be a HUD appear which showed the new playback speed. How do I enable that? I realise you can see it on the status bar but I prefer the other way.

I'm surprised no one knows the answer to this.

Do people not understand what I'm talking about? When you pressed the speed change keys, the new playback speed would fade in and out on the screen in large characters.

Disable "Enable On Screen Display (OSD)" in the simple Preferences for Subtitles / OSD.

It was already enabled. Tried turning on and off but still no good. Could it be anything else?

Have you saved the change and rebooted the VLC?
