I have a computer with a local display and a HDMI connection to a video projector. I want VLC to play the video full screen in the window that is the projector but leave the controls in the main computer window. Is there a setting to make VLC always work this way?

You must include the video projector in Windows as an extension.
In the advanced video settings of the VLC, you must enter the corresponding position of the upper left corner of the projector for the video coordinates.
