VLC cannot save playlists any more

since Dec 22 nightly build for windows x64 the "save playlist to file" function is broken (it is still broken with nightly build from jan 19, 2017
I can load a m3u playlist and edit and rearrange items, but when I try to save the modifications file selection dialog appears then the overwrite warning and then the file is not changed.
Same happens when creating a new playlist. On Save no overwrite question ofc, but the given filename c:\temp\test.m3u is not saved on disk in temp dir.
