VLSub 0.9 Does not work anymore. It crashes VLC

For about two weeks, when i load the VLSub 0.9 and i hit Search by hash, or by name, it loads like ten seconds internally, then a tiny window pops up with this messageExtension 'VLSub 0.9.13' does not respond. Do you want to kill it now?. If you dont close it and wait one more minute, it eventually responds and completes the search.

Can you please fix the extension?

I had that trouble and I solved it right now; the solution (Windows 7 x86) is in http://www.thenerdmag.com/fix-vlc-playe ... orking-bug.
Steps:Fix VLSUB 0.9.13 Freeze/Crash

Download the Notepad++ and install it on your computer.

Now open Notepad++ and go to Plugins > Plugin Manager -> Show Plugin Manager.
Find “Hex Editor” in the list and install it. Notepad++ will reinstall.

1) Go to the installed location of VLC (most probably Program Files); From there navigate to: VideoLAN > VLC > lua > extensions

2) Now open “VLSub.luac” in notepad++ and from Plugins select Hex Editor -> View in Hex.

3) Now open Find box or press CTRL + F and search for “HTTP/1.1”.
There when found replace HTTP/1.1 with HTTP/1.0

4) Now save the file by pressing CTRL + S. If Notepad++ asks you to run as admin. Select yes and it will automatically run as admin. Now save again.

Once done open any movie file in VLC and try searching for Subtitles using VLSUB 0.9.13 or any other version. Hopefully it will work.

Finally ! That worked. Thank you TTixa ! :)

It is really frustrating that because of this very little issue, a feature that comes with VLC, out of the box is broken. VLC should have made a new version with the fixed .luac file asap imo. :-|

I followed your instructions, except for the "View in Hex" part, I used the "Search and Replace" function normally, it found 2 instances, replaced them and I'm sooooo glad to report that now subtitles download just fine. My most heartfelt appreciation!! :D

Does the updated VLSub not work for you? Just replace "VLC\lua\extensions\vlsub.luac" v0.9.13 with new "vlsub.lua" v0.10.0.

I have tried both replacing HTTP/1.1 and also downloading vlsub.lua v0.10.0 and still does not work. Any other suggestion?

Thanks.
