How Do I Change The Default Recording format from AVI To TS (mpg + mpg1.2.)

Hi All,
I hope someone can help me with this
I am using VLC 2.2.4 Weatherwax (64bit) on Windows 10 64Bit Pro .
I can Record Video and Audio via "Media -> Open Capture Device... -> Direct Show.... USB 2861 Device and Line (3-USB 2861 Device) and use the "Record Button" but I get an AVI File. MPG (TS) would be preferred.
In previous versions I used to be able to get an MPG .TS video, audio file.
I have looked in the Settings (ALL) but could not find anything that looked remotely like what I need. I have also used search on the forum ... still nothing
Any help in setting this up is much appreciated.
