VLC embedded in MS Word 2016

Hello.
I'm on Windows 7 64bit using VLC ver. 2.2.4 32bit; Word 2016 is part of MS Office 365 ProPlus.
I used the same method as for adding MS Media Player:
- activated Developer( and macros) in ribbon and entered in Design mode
- went for Legacy Tools -> More Controls
-found and selected something called: "VLC ActiveX Plugin and IE Web Pluginv2"
Result: a small-sized VLC-branded media player is displayed in Word.
- in "Properties" I added the local path of the video intended for play first to BaseURL, and then tried with MRL(???) and then filled both.
- after exiting the Design mode I pressed on play but it wouldn't play anything in neither of the above combinations.
Has anybody been successful using it like that?
What is the field where I actually add the path to the video file and what is MRL?

Thank you in advance

Hello.
Thank you for the time taken to reply Ludrax but "MRL" string is nowhere to be found in that page...and the topic seem to be embedding VLC into web pages not MS Office documents.
Any other opinions?

I'm afraid I will not find out :!:
Currently, Office 2016 Pro will
  1. install all apps whether you want them or not.
  2. install the whole shebang on the drive that has the OS (usually C:)
This is insanely retarded.

I don't use or need Outlook, Publisher, Access and OneNote.
