Is there a 64 bit version of VLC player?

I was wondering if there was still development taking place for a 64 bit version of VLC, and if so, is it up for download?
Yes, but I am wondering why the official videolan.org homepage offers me just the 32-bit.

On http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html you can select the 64-bit installer.
