Since updating VLC on the 10th of June to version 2.2.4 on my windows 8 latop everytime i open a new video file despite the fact that I have the "Allow only one instance" and "Use only one instance when started from file manager" options checked VLC insists on creating a new window for the video to play in, can anyone please assist as it starting to get rather annoying, or can you provide a link to download an older more reliable version of VLC so I can roll back.

Hi JB,

I have rolled back VLC to the previous version and now the only allow one instance works so im going to call this a solution, maybe the next version will be more reliable but who knows,

Thanks for trying,

Guv

Having the *exact* same problem with VLC 2.2.4, on Windows 7 Professional (French x64) with all the latest updates.
Reset preferences, quitting / relaunching, reinstall and reboot did nothing.
