The 'Always' resume option not working!

The 'Always' resume option not working!
When I go to advanced mode and I change the resume playback option to 'Always' it remembers it for a while and then later in the day I open VLC and its back to its default option that is 'Ask', I want to use the 'Always' option, please fix this.
