Youtube streams

Having some issues with VLC 2.2.2 streaming YouTube, my problem is when I'm watching a vid and say i missed a part and want to jump backwards or even forwards in the video it will jump to the part but then it constantly wants to buffer over and over again, (only like one in a hundred will it play perfectly no buffer issues) I played with some of its setting but it still does this. I have high speed internet and my network is in top shape. Whats happening here?
