Continue playback broken in v2.2.2

I've seen a post or two regarding the "continue playback" feature in v2.2.2 not working or working only intermittently. Haven't seen yet a reply from the development team, perhaps there is a reply on some topic which I've not found.

Hoping to get some confirmation from dev that they are aware of the bug at least.

For me, v2.2.2 on Windows 10 Home 64bit, "continue playback" doesn't work, the prompt to continue never appears.

Looks like possibly a recurrence of https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/14034
