Frame doubling issue in VLC 2.2.x

Hello
I'm experiencing choppy playback on 1080i material when using either Linear or Yadif x2 deinterlacing in version 2.2.x. This is occuring on all 1080i material, regardless of source or container. CPU is topping out at 45-55% so there is plenty to spare. Specs are I5 3.7 Ghz, GT240.

MPC-HC + ffdshow with EVR renderer can handle this material just fine, but I like VLC much better for everything else, & I'd like to be using it as my only player.

Any ideas? Thanks!

While technically not solved, if it helps anyone else to know I've reverted to version 2.1.5 and now get smooth 1080i playback with Yadif x2. I've not had time to investigate exactly why this is...

Chalk this up to operator error. After pouring over settings & then logs, I discovered that stuttered 1080i playback was being caused by the use of the sharpen filter. I had it enabled on 2.2.2 but not on 2.1.5. The addition of the sharpen filter was causing frames to arrive late and therefore dropped.
