VLC 2.1.0 crashing issue

Despite upgrading to VLC 2.1.0 on a Windows 7 64-bit SP1, I am still getting the "Ooops: VLC media player just crashed" error message, unable to record anything on my desktop...
I have tried the usual suggestions (e.g. deleting pref files) but nothing works. Is anybody else in the same boat? Has anyone been able to find a solution to this issue?

Latest release version is 2.2.1, try it.

Thanks. I already have. The same issue...
I just download and then launch it, click on Media->Open Capture Device and set it to Desktop, set my desired frame rate to 30.00 f/s, click on the arrow next to Play button and then click on Convert, set a name to save my file, click on the settings symbol in the settings and click on Video Codec and change the Bit-rate to 2000 kb/s, and then click on Save.
Once I click on the Start button, it all disappears. When I find the file on my Desktop and double-click to open it, I get that error message...

Known bug.

Thanks Rémi
Does that mean until the next release, I could not possibly use it for recording movies of my desktop?
My Win 7 does not seem to have anything similar by default. What would you suggest I use to record screen movies of my desktop?
Thank you

You can try this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/screencapturer/
Very stripped down, but it works for me.

Thank you
This seems good.
I also found ScreenCapStudio OK.

Using my scripts (bat-files) to record my screen I found out the following information:
* Last known version where "everything" that I use on my screen recording (logos, marquee, mouse) works is: 2.0.8
* The following versions record but I cannot longer see my mouse pointer: 2.1.0, 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.4, 2.1.5
* The following versions crash VLC media player when attempting to record the desktop: 2.2.0, 2.2.1
I also tried GUI, Command Line, and API with the same results. My system is Windows 7 (x64) i7-3770 CPU 3.40 GHz, 16 GB RAM. I downloaded the x64 version of all the VLC media players mentioned above from:
