HOW TO REMOVE UNNECESSARY 2nd WINDOW OPENING EVERY TIME

Postby Shiny » 31 Oct 2015 04:21

When i click on a file (any type) to open it with VLC, instead of the file opening, the playlist opens showing the file, but nothing happens, so I have to click again on the file now showing in the new (superfluous) window. All I wanted was how it used to be - you click on the file and it opens in VLC, playing, just one window.

I have searched throughout the program interface tools and help and no solution seems available.

I have used other players for the past few years because of this silly problem because they behave. However I would prefer to use VLC.

Help please!

This is really annoying. I've got the Windows setup, and I like to play video clips. I double-click on the file and it opens like it's supposed to, but immediately freezes the screen, and never starts to play the clip. I shut down the window so I can restart the video clip, but then I have to open up Task Manager to shut down the 2nd window as well. It won't close like other windows, but just hangs out with the Windows hidden icons. Before I can restart the video clip (and I sometimes have to restart 5-6 times before VLC will play the damn thing) I have to shut down the 2nd window first. This happens every time I try to play something, and it doesn't matter if it's a video clip, a DVD, or something on the Internet. I use to LOVE VLC - It was so much better than anything else out there!

WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHY MY BRAND NEW SYSTEM CAN'T USE VLC? I've tried every version you've got and I get nothing. They all act the same.

Is there anything I can do, or do I go back to Microsoft?
