VLC 2.2.1 Will Not Save Preferences

Hello,

Just to preface, I've searched around the net and on these forums and couldn't find my issue, so I apologize in advance if this is discussed somewhere obvious, as I must have missed it.

This problem is currently occurring on two separate computers with different hardware, both running Windows 7, and one of which is on a fresh OS install. Basically what happens is, when I go into the "all" preferences of VLC and adjust things the way I'd like, they will only stay that way for a short while. What I mean is, say I make adjustments with the expanded "all" preferences, save, and close VLC. The next three or four video files I open will still have those preferences saved. Sometime beyond that point, I'll open a video file and notice that for whatever reason, all advanced preferences have been reset to their default values through no action of my own. Some examples of the preferences I change: Turning off display of video title on the video, disabling tray notification on media change, added custom aspect ratios (the added ratios will magically disappear), many others. This problem only occurs when I change options that fall under the expanded "all" preferences; the options I change on the "simple" preferences screen always stay saved.

This has actually been going on for many months, through multiple fresh OS installs on multiple computers, but I'm finally annoyed enough with it to create an account on here and see if anyone can help. I've been using VLC since pre 1.x.x versions, and I'd never had this problem prior to this year, so perhaps it is limited to 2.x.x versions, I'm not entirely sure. I know problem has been bugging me for most of this year, but I can't recall exactly what versions I was using when I first started noticing the issue (apologies).

Thanks in advance for any help!
