Record button not working properly

Postby CazzieBeans » 29 Sep 2015 02:55

I've been using the record button on VLC to capture some specific part of DVDs to make a remix video. Anyway for the past day I have been able to use the button no problem. However I recently updated it and now the files it creates aren't working properly. When played through Media player it will either play with no sound or begin to play sound and then cut out. If played through VLC it will play the audio with a black screen then it will play the video.

It's so frustrating because up until recently it was working fine and now it won't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restoring previous versions, restarting the computer, downgrading to a previous version but nothing is working.

If anyone can help that will be great.

I am having the same problem. I regularly use VLC to capture/record short segments (2-3 min.) directly from DVD-Videos. This works with my own PC (clips are ok), but not on another.

With those captured clips, VLC and MPC-HC only play audio, no video. Windows Media Player is capable of correct playback. In VLC, when I jump forward into the clip (~30 sec), it will play back audio and video.

An example: http://depositfiles.com/files/tyl55tt3x -> i741749.mpg
(~80 MB, 2 min. segment from copyrighted DVD for demostration purposes)

( Using GSpots "Visual GOP struct" dialog on the file, it reports a "system time discontinuity". )

Hi, I'm new to all this. I am transferring VHS home videos via Easycap USB on Windows 10. I can see the video perfectly sound plays too, but when I click on "RECORD" from the drop down menu and save to a file, create a file for it, select it I think from the look of it is recording the video I'm transferring over but when the video has completed about 55mins I go to the file I created and it has maybe 700kb that's it? what am I doing wrong? I have read through so much literature my eyes are sore and I cant see anything to help me. Or is it that VLC isn't the right software and I should try something else?

I really would like some help. Oh sorry to post this as a reply when it is actually a question but I can see how to open a new topic. I only registered today so maybe that the problem there?
