.ts snapshot problems

I've been using VLC for years now because I have a lot of .TS videos which plays perfectly in it. I also take snapshots of the videos. I recently noticed that the snapshots were not 16:9 anymore even though the video source is 1440x1080, it used to produce *1920x1080 snapshots. The video works fine though, still in 16:9 by default. I don't know what's the problem or if I had altered something in the settings or was it because I had other players installed recently. It's been bothering me for hours now cuz I don't want to manually resize my snapshots from now on. I read that there's an issue with snapshots in the recent update from the forum, has this got something to do with it? Please help. :(

Snapshots are always created in the original size of the video, regardless of the display size.

For some reason, it used to produce 1920x1080 as per experience (from same video). I'm not very familiar with terms but I think the video is said to be 'anamorphic' if I'm not mistaken. It's 1440x1080 but renders display to 1920x1080.

I'm sorry,
if the video has a resolution of 1440x1080, it is stored anamorphic.
A snapshot should therefore have the size 1920x1080.

I've been using snapshots from videos recorded anamorphic, no problems.

Delete all of the settings for preferences and the cache as instructed here: https://wiki.videolan.org/Reset_Setting ... s_from_VLC

Thank you for replying again. I've tried your suggestion but unfortunately, it still does not change the screenshot resolution. I am thinking something changed in my codecs/configuration when I tried installing other players like MPC and BSplayer. It was around that time when this happened. :(

Snapshots are always created in the original size of the video, regardless of the display size.

I don't want to manually resize my snapshots

I'm having the same problem. Heres the video and the screengrab I took with VLC for comparison. It never used to do this. It seems to be OK when I capture recent newer films, but whenever its older ones, due to the aspect ratio, VLC seems to squeeze them. Before I updated it I could capture anything and it would come out the correct size.
