I had been using vlc for years and all of a sudden it will not maximize. It loads fine, but will not let me view other than from a tiny place on the pinned to my task bar. Since it refuses to maximize I cannot get to the "tools" part. Can anyone help? I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with no differences. I am using windows 8 and have been for 2 years, but now all of a sudden it says vlc is not compatible. WTH???

Dear kathishrews,

we need some more Information to be able to help: with version of VLC do you use? (You'll find the number by starting your VLC: go to: 'help' and then: 'about'')
Did you try to fix the Problem by updating you VLC or Windows?
Did you use a second Screen or a Projector bevore? Maybe VLC Maximizes to a not existing second Screen (you'll fix that by windows preferences) ...

Regards
Poldy

I uninstalled vlc and reinstalled it on 9/12/15 and 9/14/15. I believe it said it was vlc 2.2.1. I am using Windows 8. I do not use a screen or projector. I use it for movies I have downloaded on the same computer. It was working for the past two years fine and I love it. It is pinned to the taskbar so when loaded I can see the little one on the bar, but it will not maximize. That's the part I am having a problem with. When I ran troubleshooter in windows it said it was not compatible. How can that be that its compatible for two years and one day no longer? Makes no sense to me.
