Hi all i'm new here and this may have been asked before but i have searched the internet and only found old posts and nothing that really helps.i have used vlc for years and never had a problem untill now.i have a brand new computer with windows 10 pro on.i have several foscam ip security cameras which work perfect apart from when i want to record audio. it goes to a page saying please install audio plugin and gives vlc web page.
now in windows 7 ultimate i never had a problem but when i check the plugins no vlc plugin is there. i have installed and uninstalled all newest versions of vlc several times and even deleted the dll files someone suggested here but still no joy.
i am running the newest Firefox 40.0.2 is there a on going problem with firefox and vlc i do not know about or can this be easily fixed. thank you all in advance for help received.

I have somewhat the same question. I am a new user here in this forum as well.
I have a Foscam IP camera that is requiring a "plugin" from VLC for me to hear audio from the camera or record audio. I see many posts about a file for MAC OS. I have windows 10 Pro. Is there a file for windows OS?
In the camera's manual it talks about requiring a Mozilla Plugin on page 12 (F18918W User Manual.pdf)? I believe when I installed VLC, I did a full installation (3.0.6 Vetinari). Maybe I already have the plugin, but I just don't know how to activate it? Thanks for anyone's help.
Thanks again in advance...

Hello AZFD,
have a look at the both contributions.
- "What must a script look like" (
https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=148252)
- "using VLC in Waterfox to view CCTV..." (
https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=147992)
The "NPAPI" VLC-Webplugin will no more supported in the latest Webbrowser's.
I use an old "Firefox 52.9 ESR" Version for the VLC-Webplugin with VLC-Player 3.0.6 (32-Bit), not the (64-Bit) VLC-Version.
