Convert file into MP4/MOV

XP and ver VLC 2.2.1
Hi
I try to convert en file (flv) into mp4 (mp4/mov). It doe work alright except that the new file cannot be read even by VLC.
If I look with mediainfo into the codec, I see on the first line the word "Anglais" which is not on other mp4 files. Every time you want to read that file you always get the answer " something unknow in the head of the file". Has someone a clou about it?
