Audio is cut off whenever a new chapter starts

I am currently using Windows 8.1 and VLC version 2.2.1. I recently downloaded a show in .mkv format but have noticed that the audio will cut out as soon as a new chapter in the video starts (OP, Main, ED). Any idea what is causing this or how I could fix it?

a bit more info might be welcome....
what kind of an mkv is it? which codecs and so are you using?

Like i already said somewhere else i feed VLC anything i can find from all over the world and it works beatifully for me. no cutoffs and so unless i'm doing something to my machine it's not supposed to do.
Maybe you could host the file somewhere for others to download and try to duplicate the issue.

Sorry I don't know any technical terms, I just like VLC for video playback. How would I check what kind of mkv the file is and how could I tell which codecs I'm using? The chapters (or at least that is what I think they are called) have little tick marks under the bar showing time in the video.
